Technically, yes rooms can be extended or relocated, offering flexibility if the needs of your school change. However, it’s important to understand that this isn’t a quick or simple job. Elements such as the roof and internal finishes may need to be replaced, which adds both labour and material costs. In practice, most schools choose not to move their building. Modular classrooms are designed to be long-term, durable, and tailored to the site, and relocating them can be expensive. For this reason, the majority of schools leave their building in place and, if needed, consider extending it or adding additional modular classrooms to meet growing requirements.

We can provide toilet and hand-washing facilities as part of your project. This is usually done either as a separate toilet block or by partitioning a section of the building to create a dedicated space for toilets and sinks. Including toilets will require groundworks to provide suitable water and drainage connections. These can either be arranged by us or organised by the school. Our buildings are constructed on site by our own experienced installation teams. As a guide, the main structure of a school room is usually completed in 5 working days. Painting and decorating are usually carried out shortly after, the room should be ready to use within 1–2 weeks. Timings can vary slightly depending on the size of the building and any groundworks required, but we will always provide a clear schedule at the start of your project.

We install all year round, both term time and holidays. School holiday dates do tend to book up quickly. If you have a specific holiday in mind, it’s best to speak to us early. If installation takes place during term time, we work closely with the school to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly. All members of our team hold Enhanced DBS checks, and we carefully plan each project to minimise disruption including coordinating with site staff, observing drop-off and pick-up times, and maintaining a secure working area throughout. Ultimately, we’ll work around what suits your school best.

The type of foundation required will depend on ground conditions and the size of the building. A site survey will normally determine the most suitable foundation system for the project. We usually build a concrete foundation/base as we believe this is the best base system for a building. A base built to building regulation standards maybe required in some instances.
